Hers is far from the only sad tale of models feeling the pressure to stay skinny and look a certain way. Numerous other models have succumbed to eating disorders, many with disastrous results.
While the results of the pressure to be skinny are evident on the models themselves, this pressure has a wider impact on young girls. A report in a British publication not long ago said that the number of young girls admitted to hospitals with eating disorders has nearly doubled in ten years, with girls as young as 9 starving themselves and needing hospitalization.
